To date, Koichi Tanaka Lab. Adv. Sci.&Tech.(KTLAST) has uploaded several “useful materials” as reference materials for researchers including “MALDI-MS Technical Reports”.
MALDI can analyze a wide range of compounds including amino acids/peptides/proteins, monosaccharides/sugar chains, conjugated lipids, nucleic acid-related compounds, metabolites, synthetic polymers, etc. However, selecting the appropriate ionization agent -the matrix- for each target compound is essential.
Over the past 30 years, several hundred matrix candidates have been investigated and developed. The “MALDI Matrix List” is a 4-page compilation of 23 selected matrices including the most recently developed matrices at KTLAST.

 - MALDI Matrix List(1.19MB)

On October 18, information was uploaded related to 20 amino acids, which mainly make up proteins. The monosaccharide list was updated to include many monosaccharides which were recently discovered to be related to disease.

 - Monosaccharide List for Mass Spectrometer(322KB)

For 20 monosaccharides important to humans and related to disease, chemical formulas, structural information, and chemical symbols are listed to assist with mass spectrometry analysis.

On October 1, MALDI-MS Technical Reports (Rev. 3.0) were uploaded to assist MALDI-MS researchers and engineers. This time, useful information has been uploaded for bio-chemical and molecular biology researchers.

  • Amino Acid Table(150KB)
Structural information and physical/chemical features of 20 amino acids that compose proteins, listed in an easy-to-use reference chart format.
  • Mutation Mass Shifts(227KB)
Mass differences when mutations occurred in gene information were compared to codon information and shown in a reference chart for 20 amino acids that compose proteins. Divided into Part 1/2 Nominal Mass (simple) and Part 2/2 Monoisotopic Mass (more precise).
