Jul. 6, 2012: Results presented at the Japanese Association for Molecular Target Therapy of Cancer (June 27 to 29).

Results were presented with respect to the imaging analysis of lipid molecules existing in breast cancer structures via microscopic mass spectrometry at the 16th Conference of the Japanese Association for Molecular Target Therapy of Cancer (June 27 to 29, 2012, in Kitakyushu City).
The microscopic mass spectrometer (microscopic MALDI) used in this instance is capable of imaging a diverse range of molecule species existing in cells, with a maximum image resolution of 10 m. The results showed that differences could be distinguished in molecules presumed to be phosphatidylcholine, existing between interstitial cells and cancer cells in breast cancer structures.
