Oct. 13, 2010: Koichi Tanaka lectured at Tohoku University as a visiting professor.

 Koichi Tanaka gave a lecture at Tohoku University as a visiting professor.

 Under the title “What Is Needed to Develop a Next-Generation Mass Spectrometer to Contribute to Medicine and Pharmaceutics?”, he introduced the next-generation mass spectrometer being developed in the FIRST research program and described how it will contribute to diagnostics and drug discovery for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

 He also talked about the importance of fostering young researchers, industry-university-government cooperation, and inter-disciplinary research to the attending researchers and staff of science, engineering, agriculture and medical departments.
